tonight we play one record, start to finish.
A hi-fi bar down a lane off Jalan Mesui. One album a night, chosen by a rotating guest selector. Talking is the cover charge.
how the night runs
i · the roomdoors open
The room fills slowly. Sit close enough to feel the horns; nothing else in the room asks for your attention.
the needle drops
Side A begins. Conversation stops. Phones face-down. The selector won’t announce the record — the sleeve sits on the wall.
the room exhales
When the side ends, you can speak again, order another drink, trade notes. The gap of silence is the whole point of the place.
this week's program

iii · the equipment1970s horns. a tube amp that runs warm. a cartridge we don’t joke about.
The room is built around a pair of vintage horn speakers on a tube chain. The horns are efficient, so we run the amp gently, the way it wants to be run. Every component was chosen for its part in a single, integrated sound.
what regulars say
iv · the room speaks“I heard a record I'd owned for ten years and realised I'd never actually listened to it.”
“The silence during Side A is the most relaxed I get all week.”
“A friend put their phone face-down without being asked. That was the moment I knew.”
seats are few. the room goes quiet on time. hold yours.
No account, no deposit. Just a number so we can hold your seat and tell you if the night sells out.

Look for the dim doorway, not a sign. If you walk past it, you have probably walked far enough — turn around.
